How is that ridiculous. Their isnt a QB worth taking here and I think they will sign Manning anyway and from what I’ve read they arent big fans of either tackle so I went BPA and took a stud RB.

Because Mike Shanahan is calling the shots
he prides himself upon finding running backs in the mid-to-late rounds. Not only that, but he seems to have found two serviceable backs in Helu and Royster last year in the 4th and 6th rounds, respectively.
Maybe who would you rather instead a tackle?
by Mr.electric10 on Feb 4, 2012 7:54 PM EST up reply actions
If the draft plays out like that and the Skins can't trade down
A tackle is probably going to get drafted. Shanahan said he’s going to evaluate Jammal “Turnstile” Brown this offseason. He’s never recovered from his injuries and needs to be replaced. Riley Reiff would be the pick here.
Maybe a CB too?
I know they aren’t too happy with DeAngelo. Maybe Dre Kirkpatrick?

If Claiborne somehow fell to #6
I’d take him in a heartbeat. Hall’s way to hit and miss. He gets picks, but he gets burned badly way to much. A RB is definitely not going to be the pick.
You have Nick Perry going to the Ravens AND the 49ers immediately after one another
And the home of the .... JETS!!!
Now lets get a G-D snack!!!

NO tight ends for the Broncos in the 1st!!!
I don’t usually nag about a broncos pick in mock drafts but please everyone no more mocking a tight end to the Broncos. At least not in the 1st. We already have two very young promising tight ends in Julius Thomas and Virgil Green (Thomas in particular, who had only played 1 year of college football looked amazing in training camp, but unfortunately got hurt early in the season). Both were drafted last year and both saw playing time. there is no way the Broncos use a 1st round pick on the position.
Wooooot! one of my teams made the postseason and won! PLAYOFFS!!!1
Denver Broncos: 2011 AFC WEST Champs!
Come on Toronto teams, one of you make the goddamn playoffs.
Most people dont even know who the Broncos TEs are so lets not pretend that either one of those guys are going to be stars or anything. Allen, on the other hand, has the potential to be a great player and is the perfect safety valve for Tebow.

Yeah, what do Bronco fans know about thier favorite team?
There's no way Khloe's a Kardashian. No frickin' way.

Maybe Allen is the pick on BPA. Could be the next Shannon Sharpe.
You are correct. Green and Thomas are late-round projects who disappeared during the season. Sure Thomas was hurt but still was just about adequate when healthy. Tebow could use a TE as a weapon much more than he could a WR. I’d still bet we go Defense but Allen is a legitimately good pick.
There are no apostrophes in plurals.
A lot is two words. Allot can be one word but it has another meaning.
The only time you really want to use "myself" is when you are the recipient of your own action. Usually you're better off using "me."
Your is not the correct contraction of you are. The word you're looking for is you're.
It's anyway, not anyways.
But if you only remember one thing...
There are no apostrophes in plurals.
For me a 1st round tight end, especially for Denver, has to be both a factor in the run game as well as the passing game and I havent been convinced enough about his ability in the run game to warrant a 1st round pick.
"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson
I could live with Brockers at #14.
I still want to see him physically test so I can get a handle on his ceiling, but he could definitely be an impact player at 3-4 DE for Dallas.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
I'd like to have seen him stay in school another year
I bet he falls out of the first. That sounds funny because I’m thinking he’s artificially high on draft boards now.
Wolf. Wolfgang Wolf
I agree about another year of school
but I can’t see him falling out of the first round.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
Zach Brown is becoming the norm pick for the Giants now
So that means we won’t draft him. Sure if he impresses at the combine he may be on the Giants board, but I really don’t think he’ll be the pick this year.
I hope your right
I think Brown will be a beast in the NFL and the giants would be dumb to pass on them.

I'm not a huge fan
I’ve watched a lot of UNC games and from what I’ve seen, he doesn’t really wrap up. He tries to shoulder/arm tackle guys and that works in college…..but not so much in the NFL. Maybe I’m wrong and don’t have a large enough sample size, which could be the case, but from what I’ve seen, I’m not a huge fan.
Well FWIW that's kind of the feeling I have on him
I’ve watched some film and some games on TV. Faster than shit but more of a hitter than a wrapper. I’d take the guy in a heartbeat at the top of the second round or even late first, (though we don’t currently have a pick in the late first). I’m still quite the fan and love him as a Ram.
Wolf. Wolfgang Wolf
At pick #31 I feel hes all upside and the giants dont have any glaring needs (they are in some game today I think) so I thought it was a solid pick.
by Mr.electric10 on Feb 5, 2012 9:44 AM EST up reply actions
Well out of all the LB's the Giants might take in the 1st round this year, he's the front runner
But with Konz and Mercilus on the board, I don’t think they go with Brown.
The Giants have glaring needs they have no secondary.
The Patriots are in that game too and they have some glaring needs (secondary and Big WR)
There is no team in the NFL that is as good as it could be at this moment.
LOL
the Giants secondary is solid. But as always with the Giants, they could draft another one. Amukamara throughout the playoffs showed that he could step right in at a starting CB spot and do fine. And of course Webster’s one of the better DBs in the game.
Ross and Thomas are FAs but I’d expect at least one to be back.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
it doesn't make any sense with Mercilus on the board there.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
Mercilus is a 3-4 OLB
The giants run a 4-3 bad fit I thought
by Mr.electric10 on Feb 4, 2012 11:31 PM EST up reply actions
I'd take Konz there
2012 NYG mock - 1: Janoris Jenkins CB, 2: Kevin Zeitler G, 3: A.J. Jenkins, WR, 4: Neiko Thorpe S, 5: Vick Ballard RB, 6: Rishard Matthews WR, 6: some random LB, 7: BPA
Mercilus is never, not ever a 3-4 OLB, that would be a terrible fit
he’s 6"4 265. A 4-3 DE, RDE to be exact. Good fit.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
espn
has him as an 3-4 OLB going going ot either the ravens or 49ers or pats if hes stays in the first round
by Mr.electric10 on Feb 5, 2012 9:39 AM EST up reply actions
Well I think that he's athletic enough to convert to a 4-3 DE
Plus being in a rotation alongside Tuck, JPP, and Osi (maybe) would help him learn the scheme, and he could become another weapon in our pass rush.
he'd be converting to a 3-4 OLB
he’s a 4-3 down lineman his entire (one year..) career at UI.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
I was just gonna say that
I don’t think I know more than them, but that’s hardly a deal breaker for credibility.

Rather have Perry than Still?
Must not need a DT, then? I have your needs at DE, WR, CB, OLB, and Center. Does that sound about right?
Wolf. Wolfgang Wolf
Correct. we drafted Casey and Klug last year at DT and both have made impacts.

So DE, WR, OLB and Center are good and add a safety and a Guard
I’m doing up my team needs for my next one, thanks.
Wolf. Wolfgang Wolf
hmm really
I thought DT was a bigger need since Jones is a FA. But Ill mock Perry next time
by Mr.electric10 on Feb 4, 2012 11:31 PM EST up reply actions
Jones was moved to DE this past year.
Also if he is resigned he may moved back to DT.

Ravens
Never seen Perry mocked to us yet. I personally think we would go Burfict, but I like Perry’s talent and Ozzie has said he would like to keep adding talent to the pass rush, so certainly a possibility. Nice switch up Pick.

I tried to be a little different this time and part of me thinks character concerns drops him out of first round.

I had your needs as Safety Tackle then OLB. Who do you want at this pick
by Mr.electric10 on Feb 5, 2012 2:07 PM EST up reply actions
Actually Richardson would be fine at 16.
Too hard to pass up. Buit any OLb prospect, whether it’s Mercilus, Perry, Ingram, or Upshaw, would be better than an OT or a S.
Reason for Changes
Redskins: Thought about it and RB does seem unlikely they need to protect Manning (who I think they get in FA) so gave them my top tackel
Jags: Jags still need a tackle and lucky for them martin and reiff are very close
Dolphins: This is by far the most shocking pick but QBs always seem to be reached for on draft day and the Phins really need a QB Henne is not the answer.
Jets: LT is getting old and Greene didnt show enough to be a full time back. Having two strong RBs will allow the jets to get back to their roots
Titans: Everyone seemed to want Whitney here so I listen and changed it.
Broncos: Didnt change this one. Maybe just a hunch but I feel that they need a TE for Tebow and Allen would really help them stretch the field.
Giants: Another pick I didnt change. I was looking at BBV and most people seem to think a cover 4-3 guy is what you need and Zach Brown fits that mold. Had I not given Allen to the giants he would have been the pick here.
Pats: Need a C and they get the top one of the board.
Oboy I just realized I never chimed in.....
We’re gonna need Kalil, unless a trade down is worked out. I know all the explanations on Blackmon and there’s a lot of logic there. I just think we’re going to protect our QB first, then get him weapons. At least that’s what I assumed when we got Fisher.
Wolf. Wolfgang Wolf
Hmm didnt see that I thought that since Lloyd seems to be following McDaniels adding a big time WR would be the first thing Fisher would want to do. I mean Bradford to Blackmon could be an amazing duo for years to come.
by Mr.electric10 on Feb 5, 2012 3:06 PM EST up reply actions
It's as big a debate at TST this year as Bradford/Suh was 2 years ago
Can’t really go wrong either way. As much as I like Kalil, there are as many guys who like Blackmon. Not enough of a reason to change your mock, I don’t think. Besides, I’m not sure we should feel the need to change our mocks to make each other happy. That’s a good way to all come up with the same thing. I say that knowing I’m doing another in a month, though.
Wolf. Wolfgang Wolf
Most of the guys at BBV think we need a linebacker, but we really don't
Two years ago it was McClain, last year was Ayers, and this year it’s Brown I guess.
Dolphins do need a QB
but with the Packers Joe Philbin taking the head coaching position, I think it’s just a matter of the opening of FA until we see Matt Flynn sign there.

Bengals
Not really a fan of this draft. I think Richardson is the ONLY RB we will take in round 1, otherwise we will wait until the 2nd or 3rd to address RB. Glenn is a big time reach at #17 as well!!!
