I completely agree
Absolutely no way, the need is a pass rusher and Upshaw is that guy. If Upshaw is gone, I do not see the Seahawks passing up Trent Richardson if he is available either. Yes they have Marshawn, but the one-two punch of Marshawn and Trent would be too juicy for Pete to pass up.
So there I was, balls deep......

Upshaw is better suited play 3-4 OLB than 4-3 DE. I know Carrol mixes up the packages a bit but, I think passing on Upshaw makes sense. I do agree that Adams is a bad pick, although with the pick of adams Carpenter can move to G where he might flourish. Either way, I’d think DeCastro, Still, or Glynn would make more sense.

Giants
Fleener I can see, if he shows good blocking ability. Giants do like smart players as well. Johnson, a big CB, fits their mold, and his “character problem” is a nothing in my book. Bryan also a decent pick.
But you keep giving the Giants their only two 300 and under lbs. OL. Those guys are being scouted by ZBS teams. Giants like them big. Brewer last year, 6-8 320+. We have signed both Andrews brothers in consecutive seasons. That’s 660+ lbs of OL. Our starting center is 6-6 and not skinny. Our backup center Cordle is 320.
My QB has 2 rings. Well, 3 if you want to get technical.
2012 NYG mock - 1: Dwayne Allen TE, 2: Brandon Boykin CB/RS, 3: A.J. Jenkins WR, 4: Vick Ballard RB, 5: Neiko Thorpe S, 6: Rishard Matthews WR/RS, 6: Blake DeChristopher G/T, 7: BPA
I really don't like the Giants draft
Fleener’s a reach. He’s a good player but not a 1st round athlete. Johnson is really not the type of player the GIants draft anymore, long gone are the days of Ron Dixon. He might be a good value in the 4th or 5th round, but we’re not the Jaguars….the Giants don’t get a hard on trying to outsmart everyone with these small school wonders (and then going 6-10 every year).
The OLs are too small and yea, any OL only plays after they bulk up to a certain weight. It almost doesn’t make sense to draft one since they’re gonna have to learn for a while anyway.

Jags
1)Blackmon is an AWFUL pick. I am in the minority it seems, but Blackmon is just awful value at #7 despite the overwhelming need at WR for the Jaguars. He is not good enough to warrant passing on guys like Coples and Jonathan Martin.
2)Excellent pick if he manages to fall to the 2nd. Even if we got Coples, the value is just too great to pass on a first round prospect like Mercilus. It would kind of suck since by then I figure the Jaguars have resigned Mincey or signed an Avril/Williams/etc. but the pick has got to be made even if traded right away. I also see Dwayne Allen and Osemele are still there, and one of them might also make a ton of sense from a value perspective.
3)I am not so high on Fleming, but he is not such a bad pick in my eyes. A this point, I would rather look at Joe Adams, Josh Norman, Ben Jones, and a bunch of other WRs as better options at the pick.
4)I like the value, although Mitchell Schwartz from Cal is an O-Lineman who is really growing on me and I think I like him more at the pick if the pick is in fact an O-Lineman. Having said that, I still think there is better value at other positions. TY Hilton, Marvin McNutt, and MAYBE Jairus Wright are in my opinion better value and are WRs which is a massive need. I also like Harrison Smith, Dwight Bentley and Casey Hayward as other better value picks.
5)Not bad value yet again, but I still like other players a lot more. Criner is moving up the boards, and he might go pretty early, so he is an obvious option if he fell this far. Marvin Jones, Gerell Robinson and Ladarius Green are also great choices.
6)Not saying I dislike the pick, but I am not sure backup QB warrants a pick for the Jaguars. What I mean by that is I figure they Jaguars could get just as “good” of a QB in UDFA to try and win the backup QB spot. There are better options for the pick in my opinion, particularly a punter, Danny Trevanthan or Jordan White.
If I were to redraft this based on who is available, it would look something like this:
1)Quinton Coples DE
2)Whitney Mercilus DE- might trade him straight away or trade away the pick knowing someone wants him(I would figure another pick was acquired in the deal but do not know which so I will ignore that pick)
3)Josh Norman CB
4)Marvin McNutt WR
5)Juron Criner WR
6)Danny Trevanthan LB

Cardinals
First time I’ve seen Adams mocked ahead of Martin, which I am perfectly happy with. I still like Martin over Rieff and Adams, and would be more than happy if he fell to the Cardinals

Panthers
Absolutely Terrible. waste 2 early picks on DTs which isnt a need and is already incredibly young and adding a WR in the 2nd that we also dont need. also none of these players have good value at their spot
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was
Panthers
Don’t have a problem with the first round pick, and the sixth rounder. Rest of the draft really confuses me. Ruben Randle doesn’t seem to be the kind of WR Carolina would be looking for. Carolina is looking for a guy who can take over for Steve Smith as a true #1 receiver, and I don’t really see it out of him. I can’t see the logic behind the Mike Daniels pick in the fourth. Having just drafted two DTs in the last draft, along with Rivera saying that DT wasn’t a major focus earlier, I don’t see Carolina double dipping again. I like Marvin Jones as a prospect, and don’t have a problem with him in the fifth round, but again, I don’t see Carolina double dipping at receiver (or anything for that matter) before taking a CB.
Personally, in the second, I’d look at Carolina taking one of the remaining corners, a OLB or OT in the forth, and then Jones makes sense in the fifth.
Coby Fleener?
he’s not even the best TE avalable let alone player

my thinking
this guy sees Giants looking for a pass catching TE and sees how you guys lost a TE to a torn ACL. Fleener MIGHT be perceived to be the better receiving TE and so he fits a need.

when you draft for the Giants
you don’t use the N word. Its a four letter word and its bad.

just trying to figure out the guy's rationale
be it good or bad

the guy's rational is no doubt 'need'
Giants undoubtedly need a TE. They needed a TE when Ballard and Beckum were 100% healthy, and now you can’t expect either of them to be a factor next year.
Its just we don’t overdraft a player based on a perceived need.

Ravens
Awesome for us. Getting Burfict and then a G and a C would be great. Not sure about Jones falling to the end of the 3rd. I would love it, but not sure he drops that far. I don’t see us drafting 2 C’s though. Other than that Very nice.

If I see another person mock Brockers to Carolina
I’ll kill somebody. Carolina WILL NOT draft Brockers, or any DT, in the early rounds this year, if at all.

Texans
I would be happy with Alshon Jeffery if he actually falls that far.

JETS
outside of the first round I hate it.
Only two of them fill dire needs, OLB and WR. The QB in the second round is bad, Sanders and the Steelers Tackle pick would be better served there.
And the home of the .... JETS!!!
Now lets get a G-D snack!!!

seeing as how the Jets need a franchise QB you might want to take one in the first round...

Bengals
I’ll make it easy
1 Trent Richardson RB Alabama
1 Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina
2 Kelechi Osemele LG /T Iowa State or Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin
3 Casey Hayward CB Vanderbilt or Josh Robinson CB UCF
4 Derek Wolfe DT Cincinnati
5 A.J. Jenkins WR Illinois or B.J. Cunningham WR Michigan State
5 Markus Zusevics RT/G Iowa – Couldn’t find him on yout list
6 Marquis Maze WR/PR Alabama
Here's my breakdown of the Texans picks
26. WR Alshon Jeffery, South Carolina: If he comes in, works hard, & answers all the questions about his work ethic, I won’t mind this pick.
58. DE Jared Crick, Nebraska: I question how he’d fit in the Texans defense. He’s too small to be the NT, & we’re set at DE, so there’s no point using a 2nd on him. I’d double dip at WR & take Dwight Jones here or take OG Brandon Washington
89. C David Molk, Michigan: I don’t think we’ll look at Center. My gut says the Texans will put the franchise tag on Chris Myers then give him a new contract. If he can play OG, I’d be comfortable if we didn’t take Washington in the 2nd, but if we did, WR Tommy Streeter would be a good pick here, & Andre Johnson would be glad to take a WR from The U under his wing
121. CB DeQuan Menzie, Alabama: Under no circumstances will the Texans draft a CB in this draft. Right here, I see a trade back being done for Denver’s two 5th round picks
129. Houston Texans (via Denver Broncos, via Rams) – NT Josh Chapman: At this spot, he’d be an absolute steal. I don’t think the Texans would be done with trades here. I see them trading right back up to Arizona’s #143 pick for the #152 from Denver, the Texans #153, & their #185
143. Houston Texans (via Arizona Cardinals) – DE Derek Wolfe, Cincinnati: Wolfe is a very intriguing prospect. He could play either the NT or 5 Technique position, & he’s a very high motor guy, the kind of guy Wade Phillips would love on the D-Line
Murphy’s 20th Military Law:
If it’s stupid, but it works, it ain’t stupid
"Fuck em all. Go Texans."
The Texans 4th round pick (#121 pick) for Denver's 2 5th's (#129 & #152)
They can feel free to take Menzie if they need to

terrible for the chiefs
In the first 3 rounds you gave us players at our lowest position of need. we’re set at OLB, WR, and Kuechly doesn’t fit as a SILB in our scheme. he’d be a WILB and Derrick Johnson has that spot locked in
KC Draft prediction: No OT taken in first round
Agree
LB, OLB, WR,CB, QB… WOW I would be F-IN pissed off if that is the way KC drafted.
-
Round 1. ILB is a lower need but it isnt a early draft pick need. Just like Trent said above he is more of a WILB in a 3-4.
-
Round 2. I wouldnt even have this on the list this offseason.
-
Round 3. Even if Bowe isnt resigned(which he will get the FT if he isnt) KC wont take a WR early. If KC tries to improve its passing game it will be at TE.
-
Round 4. CB? Flowers, Carr, Arenas, Brown(last years 4th rounder) and Daniels. That is plenty of talent and players at this positon. If Carr isnt resigned then this could change but if that is the case then KC wouldnt fill it with a 4th rounder.
-
Round 5. You dont take developmental QB’s back to back. If you do this then you have to cut Stanzi. KC wont go into the season with Cassel, Stanzi, Rookie QB…
-
Redraft
Round 1. David Decastro- OG
Round 2. Dwayne Allen- TE
Round 3. Bobby Massie- OT
Round 4. Trenton RIchardson- S
Round 5. Phillip Blake- C
Round 6. Mychal Kendricks- ILB
What a year! At least we have the Royals... Oh Wait!
Wow I didnt see a guy on the list
Replace Round 4. Trenton Richardson with
Round 4. Josh Chapman- NT
What a year! At least we have the Royals... Oh Wait!
Worthy's such a reach for Denver...
Elway says we’re going BPA.
There are no apostrophes in plurals.
A lot is two words. Allot can be one word but it has another meaning.
The only time you really want to use "myself" is when you are the recipient of your own action. Usually you're better off using "me."
Your is not the correct contraction of you are. The word you're looking for is you're.
It's anyway, not anyways.
But if you only remember one thing...
There are no apostrophes in plurals.
So...
The Eagles Go WR with their first two picks but somehow pass on Michael Floyd? I couldn’t even go passed the first round but Devon Still, Trent Richardson, or Michael Floyd in the first please.
