Guys, Stop Blaming the Officials
This game was on the Colts. Peyton did everything in his power to win this game, but as we learned in years past, not even the great ones can do it all on there own. Look at the Ravens. For years after their one superbowl win, they have lost numerous games because of a lack of offense. Steelers? they lived up to the cliche of running the ball and stopping the run, but always had incompetent QB's who couldnt perform the role of at least game manager before Rothlesburge. This game was all on the Colts. Not being able to run the ball, defense playing inconsistent/wearing out early, and special teams putting the offense in a bad situation in the first place. Yeah there were some ticky-tacky calls and some bad no calls by Winters, but in the end the Colts had the game at hand and lost it.

LT possibly out due to torn groin
Obviously this will help the defense, but no one wishes for a player to get injured. Get well soon LT.

Rookies and Tomorrows Game
As you all remember, the Colts problem last year was generating a pass rush on Phillip RIvers and Billy Volek. I know that they havent had much playing time this year, but I have a feeling the Marcus Howard and possibly Curtis Johnson may play critical roles in tomorrows game if we want to win. They showed the ability to generate pressure last week and seemed to have improved since we last saw them extensively in the preseason. If the Colts can force the Chargers to play catch up, look for a rotation between Freeney, Mathis, Howard, and Johnson to keep a consistent rush on Rivers to keep him off balance and to keep our players fresh/

Comparing Strength of Schedule from Start of the Year to Now
I constantly visit message board site and found this little tidbit. At the start of the season the Colts were believed to have had the second hardest schedule in the league. after doing the math this is how the final SOS for the regular season turned out to be.
Team Winning Percentage Opp. Total Wins Opp. Total Losses
Steelers .598 153 103
Colts .594 152 104
Jaguars .559 143 113
Vikings .551 141 115
Ravens .551 141 115
Titans .551 141 115
Bengals .547 140 116
Texans .547 140 116
Browns .547 140 116
Lions .543 139 117
Bears .531 136 120
Packers .531 136 120
Redskins .523 134 122
Cowboys .523 134 122
Eagles .520 133 123
Giants .520 133 123
Rams .488 125 131
49ers .484 124 132
Seahawks .477 122 134
Buccaneers .469 120 136
Falcons .469 120 136
Cardinals .465 119 137
Dolphins . 465 119 137
Panthers .465 119 137
Jets .457 117 139
Chiefs .453 116 140
Bills .449 115 141
Saints .449 115 141
Broncos .445 114 142
Raiders .438 112 144
Chargers .422 108 148
Patriots .387 99 157
(yeah I dont know how to make a chart out of this but its the best I can do. If anyone can edit to make a chart, im all for it)
As you can see, when comparing the SOS to the start of the year, it came out pretty accurate. The Colts did indeed have the 2nd toughest schedule in the league and came out 12-4. Pretty good for a team that has been decimated by injuries eh?

Congratulations Chargers Fans
The run your team made is truly admirable as many thought you were dead. But the Bolts kept fighting never giving up and thats what good things do.
That said, I hope my team, the Indianapolis Colts, goes to San Diego and kick your butts for that painful playoff loss last year and ruining our perfect season. Till next week
GO COLTS AND BOO CHARGERS!!!

I know tomorrow will be a hectic day for you guys with playoff implications on the line and score watching galore, but do you guys mind telling me what thats all about? The question has irked me for some time now
Go Colts!!! (im a Colts fan and I needed to write that to get the 75 words... oh and uh good luck tomorrow)

Hall Returns to Practice
Well lets hope that Hall doesnt get injured for the rest of the season and contributes. That will at least calm out "put him on IR" rants.
Indianapolis Colts offensive guard Ryan Lilja will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, the team announced today.
Lilja missed the first 11 games this season. He was eligible to return to the active roster through Monday, but now he will remain on the physically unable to perform list.
Gonzo and the slot
based off of last nights game and some of the previous games dating back to week 9 against New England, I we are starting to see Gonzalez develope into the slot receiver we projected him to be the day he was drafted.
Yesterday, Gonzo caught 4 passes on third down for 67 yards and a touchdown converting all third downs with those catches. Prior to this game, we kept seeing that Gonzo consistently got open on third downs, but was neglected. Now that Manning is starting to notice he gets open, we are finally starting to see the rebirth of the three wide, single back formation the Colts used to use when Stokely was our slot. The more continuity we get with this formation and the more we back to form on offense, you can start to expect the big numbers we are used to seeing and the slot receiver (gonzo) being our first down machine again.
